Why join a Branch?

UNA branches organise themselves independently of UNA Wales, but also make important contributions to the national association’s policies, priorities and campaigns, both here in Wales and the UK.

Branches campaign, lobby and raise awareness on issues of disarmament, conflict prevention, sustainable development, human rights and climate change. They promote informed debate on international issues and the UN system itself. Branches connect people to the work and values of the UN and also work to influence decision-makers and opinion-shapers to support UN goals. Plus, if you join a branch, a proportion of your membership fee can be used by the branch to run local events and activities.

UNA-Wales currently has active branches in Cardiff and Menai, both of which organise high level and exciting events.  To join one of these branches, click on the branch link below.  Not in either of these areas?  Then think about starting your own branch with like minded people in your home patch, college or workplace.  We can offer support and advice to help get you going.  Simply click the membership page to discover the benefits of being a member and how to join.

Cardiff Branch

Cardiff & District UNA meet about ten times a year at the Temple of Peace in Cathays Park.  Members take part in campaigns and meetings in support of internationalism, human rights, justice and peace, and also become part of an alliance of campaigning bodies.  Recent events have been diverse, from a joint event with Cardiff Palestine Solidarity Campaign on the Crisis in Gaza to  a commemorative talk on 'International Aspects of the Miners' Strike'.  Past campaigns include against military recruitment in schools and in support of human rights in Sri Lanka.
