  • English
  • Sociology
  • Law
  • World Development

Taking part in the ChangeMakers conference helps schools/colleges to deliver key Education for Sustainable Development and Global Citizenship (ESDGC) themes such as:

  • Wealth and Poverty: Understand the tensions between economic growths, sustainable development and basic human needs.
  • Choices and Decisions: Be interested in how global issues and current affairs affect them.
  • Identity and Culture: Appreciate that they are citizens in an interconnected world.
  • Active citizenship: Promote sustainability and fair trade and develop the skills, knowledge and understanding to be able to make informed decisions about their communities with the aim of improving the quality of life in these.
  • Moral and spiritual development: Understand the moral and ethical problems faced by society and individuals and reflect upon how such issues may be resolved.
  • Sustainable development and global citizenship: Understand the need for international cooperation and the role played by non-governmental organisations.

The ChangeMakers conferences are also an interesting, interactive and fun way for students to work towards the ‘Wales, Europe and the World’ module of the Welsh Baccalaureate.
